Tiered Storage

The solution is tiered storage: some fast access storage for the critical daily functions to expedite the organization work and maintain productivity of the individual people – and some lower cost but certainly fast enough storage for the background operations. In many environments, a small amount of high speed storage, usually Fibre Channel or SAS, is combined with a much larger count of the high capacity storage which is typically SATA storage.
