Winchester Systems joins Rational Software's Unified Partner Program
FlashDisk® OpenRAID™ Cuts Development Time

Burlington, MA. April 24, 2001 - Winchester Systems Inc., a leading provider of high performance storage for UNIX and NT servers, today announced that it has joined Rational Software Corporation's Unified Partner Program.

FlashDisk Performance
FlashDisk OpenRAID ultra-high performance disk array delivers over 13,000 sustained I/O operations per second to the disks for random access and up to 121 MB per second sustained data throughput to the disks using two host ports for sequential access. Software developers derive benefit from having high speed on both random and sequential access due to the variety and complexity of the application.

FlashDisk "Open" Architecture
FlashDisk OpenRAID runs on UNIX and NT servers including SUN, HP, IBM and Intel and is a true hardware, plug-and-play "open system" storage solution, which emulates standard SCSI disks.
