FlashDisk® ATA Provides Secondary Storage
for Disk-to-Disk Backup Applications
Affordable Secondary Storage at around 1/2¢ Per Megabyte

Burlington, MA. April 30, 2003. Winchester Systems Inc., an innovative storage solutions company, has introduced a new high performance storage solution called A-1200 FlashDisk ATA. FlashDisk ATA provides affordable high capacity secondary storage for disk-to-disk backup or near-line storage applications, reduces backup window and makes it quick and easy to restore data files without waiting for tape restores.

FlashDisk ATA holds up to 12 low profile disk drives of up to 200 GB each for a total of 2.4 TB in just 3U of rack space and includes either SCSI-to-ATA or Fibre-to-ATA solutions. For additional capacity, FlashDisk ATA may be daisy-chained with up to four systems per host bus, with dual in/out Ultra160 SCSI ports.

With automated drive failure detection, failed drive rebuild, and hot-swap drive capability, FlashDisk ATA also provides high data availability and is perfect for applications where direct access to data is required such as daily backups, photo archives, data mining, email archives, audio and voice recordings, biomedical and geological data and more.

Price and Delivery
A-1200 FlashDisk ATA configured with 2.4 TB of storage capacity is priced at $13,995 or around 1/2¢ per megabyte. Delivery is 2-3 weeks.
