Winchester Systems Announces New
Centralized FlashDisk Management Appliance
Remote Storage Access with Real-time E-mail Alert Notification

Burlington, MA. May 20, 2003. Winchester Systems Inc., an innovative storage solutions company, has introduced a new centralized management appliance called FlashConsole™. FlashConsole is a flexible management appliance for managing and monitoring high-performance FlashDisk® OpenRAID storage products, providing remote access and high data availability.

FlashConsole allows the user to control FlashDisk parameters for up to 32 disk arrays such as partition size, mapping and drive rebuilds. It continually checks each system for connectivity loss and insures that the disk array is working properly. If a problem arises, an e-mail notification is automatically sent to one or more individuals for resolution.

"We all know that the system administrator's job is hard enough without adding the extra worry of constantly checking the storage hardware," stated Joel Leider, the company's chief executive officer. "FlashConsole keeps constant vigil over an organization's valuable data when the system administrator is not around, providing peace of mind knowing a proactive system is in place to head off potential problems," he added.

FlashConsole uses no host software, supports all standard network protocols, is easily configured using a web-based interface and can be installed in under one hour.

Price and Delivery
FlashConsole is available in five models providing connections from one to thirty-two arrays. FlashConsole is included at no charge with all new systems. Pricing starts at under $200 per port when purchased separately to upgrade existing systems. Delivery is 2 - 3 weeks.
