Winchester Systems, Inc., a leading data storage solutions company, today introduced a new iSCSI based RAID array that also has Fibre Channel connectivity. Known as the FlexSAN FS-100 disk array, it supports up to 6 TB of SATA storage with four iSCSI and four Fibre Channel host connections. "Our customers are looking for cost effective flexible solutions to deploy that do not compromise availability features", stated Dave Geene, Vice President of Sales at Winchester Systems. "Having both iSCSI and Fibre Channel connectivity in the same box makes for ultimate flexibility. Users can implement a SAN and offer either iSCSI and/or Fibre Channel connectivity without a switch. The connectivity decision can be based on service level considerations such as usage, speed, distance, or simply the type of host connection available. The FS-100 supports fully redundant RAID controllers as well as snapshot capability providing high availability features at our lowest cost entry point".
