FlashDisk FC-3400 tiered storage arrays provide enterprise class primary storage for performance applications and high capacity secondary storage for backup, snapshot and archive in an expandable architecture.
It supports 224 Fibre Channel or SATA disk drives that provides up to 426 TB of exceptionally high performance, high capacity and reliable storage at affordable prices. FC-3400 delivers over 1,500 MB per second sustained throughput and over 120,000 disk I/O operations per second - while maintaining mirrored cache for controller failover.
The base unit contains single or redundant controllers with 16 Fibre Channel disks. Up to 13 expansion shelves with Fibre Channel or SATA disks can be added. The entire 14-shelf system with 426 TB fits in a single 42U high cabinet in 6 square feet, saving space, power and cooling. Fibre Channel disks are available to 600 GB with 10k and 15k rpm performance and SATA disks are available to 2 TB with 7.2k rpm.
FlashDisk FC-3400 also provides a unique “SAN-in-a-Box” design so you can directly attach up to 8 Fibre Channel hosts without costly Fibre Channel switches, redundant HBAs or host-based failover software.
FC-3400 provides RAID 6 with dual parity to protect against two drive failures and to help ensure that critical disk rebuilds after a drive failure are successful. It delivers vastly superior reliability while sustaining full performance for both Fibre Channel and SATA shelves. FlashDisk RAID 6, powered by high speed ASICs, delivers higher speed than competitive RAID 5 systems.
