VMware Cluster
Especially in a VMware environment, EcoServer is uniquely beneficial with the SSD boot disk option as it cuts the cost and power consumption needed to run boot disks. The short depth allows smaller cabinets and more equipment in less space.

EcoServer offers a dramatic alternative to popular blade servers, especially in a VMware environment. Blade server backplanes complicate diagnosis and are single points of failure affecting multiple servers. Each EcoServer supports two quad-core Intel processors and thus offer the power of typically two blades. The result is that a comparable yet more reliable and far lower power solution that costs a fraction of the blade server alternative.
