FlashNAS is a 2U or 1U file serving "appliance" based on Intel dual 5500 Quad-Core Xeon processors that runs Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2008 R2. It enables flexible and easy deployment of FlashDisk arrays to multiple servers and hundreds of users over your existing LAN infrastructure. FlashNAS serves files to any Windows, Unix and Mac OS-X client without added hardware, software or rebooting the client.

Up to 426 TB with Snapshots, Speed, De-duplication and Intuitive GUI

FlashNAS scales to 426 TB of FlashDisk storage per RAID set. It supports any mix of SATA for low cost secondary storage, SAS for high performance yet cost effective everyday primary storage and Fibre Channel RAID arrays for highest performance, scalability and availability. FlashNAS let you create frequent, scheduled snapshot backups to protect data and provide rapid data restores using Windows Volume Shadow Copy Services (VSS). For maximum performance, FlashNAS is optimized for file serving and is 30% faster than a standard Windows Server. Redundant failover FlashNAS configurations are available for using Microsoft high availability software.

FlashNAS offers built-in data de-duplication featuring Single Instance Storage (SIS) that saves typically 35% of the storage space by eliminating duplicate files - linking them instead of storing them multiple times. To simplify management, FlashNAS has an intuitive, web-based GUI that simplifies storage management. It supports 64 point-in-time snapshots per volume, folder based quotas, native support for Windows, Linux and UNIX environments and file sharing across multiple operating systems.

FlashNAS includes: Support for block storage as well as file storage using iSCSI target mode; Digital Archive automated hierarchical file migration to lower cost storage; Support for PC and MAC clients for media, research, education and collaboration; Optional XOsoft for local and remote real-time, one-way, bi-directional and many-to-one replication. Companion products include accessories to quickly assemble a complete data center including EcoCabinet,™ EcoSwitch,™ EcoUPS™ and EcoHBA.™
