FlashDisk SX-1300 Series disk arrays provide an exceptionally versatile tiered storage solution that includes both 2.5” and 3.5” disks. It supports high performance SAS disks and high capacity SATA disks in separate 1U, 2U and 3U shelves. SAS and SATA shelves are combined to create an integrated and tiered storage solution in an expandable architecture. Available for both SAS and Fibre Channel hosts, it provides up to 65.7 TB with high performance, ASIC-based RAID 6 data protection at low cost.

The SX-1300 features 2.5” disk drives to provide the world’s fastest enterprise data storage - perfect for database and random access. It contains single or dual redundant controllers with mirrored cache and supports up to 4 expansion shelves and up to 72 total disk drives. SAS disk are available up to 300 GB with 15K rpm for the highest performance and up to 400 GB with 10K rpm for the best price/performance value. SATA disks are available with up to 1 TB capacity for storage intensive applications including backup, snapshot, archive, disaster recovery, virtual tape library, data acquisition, imaging, video and audio.

The SX-1300 support four tiers of storage on one set of RAID controllers: Tier 1+ near solid state disk performance for database hot files; Tier 1 for high speed primary storage; Tier 2 for enterprise applications; Tier 3 for for high capacity backup and archives.

RAID 6 provides dual parity for large arrays to protect against two drive failures and to help ensure that critical disk rebuilds after a drive failure are successful.
