FlashDisk FC-3494 disk arrays provide enterprise class primary storage in an expandable architecture that provides 28.8 TB of exceptionally high performance storage at affordable prices. It delivers over 1,500 MB per second sustained throughput and over 120,000 disk IO operations per second - while maintaining mirrored cache for controller failover.

The base unit contains single or redundant controllers and up to 5 expansion shelves can be added to support up to 96 enterprise class fibre channel disks, including 10K and 15K rpm disks with up to 300 GB capacity, for the most demanding applications including database, OLTP, financial, manufacturing, video and real-time data acquisition.

The FlashDisk FC-3494 also provides a unique “SAN-in-a-Box” design so you can directly attach up to 4 Fibre Channel hosts without costly Fibre Channel switches, redundant HBAs or host-based failover software.

The FC-3494 is ideal for consolidating storage in the mid-sized data center while providing a high performance, high capacity and high availability environment.

RAID 6 provides dual parity to protect against two drive failures and to help ensure that critical disk rebuilds after a drive failure are successful - especially important with today’s large arrays. RAID 6 dual parity offers 500 to 30,000 times longer MTDL (Mean Time To Data Loss) than RAID 5. FlashDisk RAID 6 with hardware ASICs delivers higher speed than competitive RAID 5 systems. For ultimate reliability, configure two FC-3494 as RAID 15 or RAID 16.
