is a robust, Intel-based
file and print
server that runs
Microsoft Windows
Storage Server
2003. Available
in a 1U or 2U
configuration,
FlashNAS enables
easy deployment
of FlashDisk RAID
storage to multiple
servers and hundreds
of users over
your existing
LAN infrastructure.
FlashNAS supports
any mix or all
of the FlashDisk
SCSI, Fibre Channel
and SATA storage
systems.
Network-ready
Storage Appliance
Adding file storage
is a snap and
can be integrated
“on-the-fly”
seamlessly into
your existing
LAN environment
without having
to bring the LAN
or servers down
or disrupt users.
FlashNAS connects
to your network
via a standard
Ethernet cable,
just like adding
a new PC to any
available ethernet
port. Preconfigured
for ease of installation,
all network administration
can be done from
anywhere on the
network via a
standard web browser.
The appliance
approach of FlashNAS
eliminates setup
issues to dramatically
reduce total storage
management costs.
Multi-Platform
File Sharing
FlashNAS is made
up of a file server
running Windows
Storage Server 2003 or UNIX/Red
Hat Linux software
and FlashDisk
OpenRAID disk
arrays. Out of
the box, it supports
Windows Common
Internet File
System (CIFS),
Novell Netware
(CNP), AppleTalk
Protocol (AFP),
and Network File
System (NFS) for
UNIX and Linux
networks.
Manageability
FlashNAS has an
easy to use web-based
user interface
that provides
set up and administration
from a remote
console. The convenience
of remote management
will save you
valuable network
administration
time. FlashNAS
interoperates
with industry
standard management
software like
CA Unicenter,
HP OpenView and
Tivoli NetView.
Eliminates
BackUp Window
With FlashNAS
you can create
a snapshot backup,
allow users to
continue working
and perform a
tape backup from
the snapshot image.
This eliminates
the backup window.
Using any industry
standard backup
software, backup
proceeds in parallel
to actual operation
to eliminate the
downtime normally
associated with
tape backups.
