FlashNAS Appliance Delivers Simple & Affordable NAS
FlashNAS is a high quality Intel Carrier Grade or NEBS-3 compliant 1U or 2U file serving "appliance" that runs Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 R2. It enables flexible and easy deployment of FlashDisk arrays to multiple servers and hundreds of users over your existing LAN infrastructure. FlashNAS serves files to any Windows, Unix and Mac OS-X clients without added hardware/software or rebooting the clients.

Up to 128 TB with Snapshots, Speed, De-duplication and Intuitive GUI
FlashNAS 1U appliance scales to 64 TB and the 2U scales to 128 TB of FlashDisk RAID storage. It supports any mix of SATA for low cost secondary storage, SAS for high performance yet cost effective everyday primary storage and Fibre Channel RAID arrays for highest performance, scalability and availability. FlashNAS let you create frequent, scheduled snapshot backups to protect data and provide rapid data restores using Windows Volume Shadow Copy Services (VSS). For maximum performance, FlashNAS is optimized for file serving and is 20% faster than a standard Windows Server.

FlashNAS offers built-in data de-duplication featuring Single Instance Storage (SIS) that saves typically 35% of the storage space by eliminating duplicate files - linking them instead of storing them multiple times. To simplify management, FlashNAS has an intuitive, web-based GUI that simplifies storage management easy. It supports 64 point-in-time snapshots per volume, folder based quotas, native support for Windows, Linux and UNIX environments and file sharing across multiple operating systems.

Options include: Support for block storage as well as file storage using iSCSI target mode; Digital Archive automated hierarchical file migration to lower cost storage; AppleTalk Filer that supports MAC and Windows seamlessly for media creation and collaboration; and WANsync for local and remote real-time, one-way, bi-directional and many-to-one replication. Companion products include a SnapCDP™ appliance for disk-to-disk/tape snapshot and continuous backup with optional replication to a SnapDR™ remote appliance.

Included functionality:  
Shadow Copy Service Restores deleted or corrupted files within minutes using Shadow Copy of shared folders. Stores up to 64 point-in-time copies per volume and provides the ability to recover previous versions of files.
Storage Manager Optimize storage resources by setting quotas at volume, directory, and user levels. Also provides a File Filtering Service to enhance security and optimization of data. Storage usage reports are created to monitor resources.
Distributed File System Build and manage a single, hierarchical view of multiple file servers. DFS simplifies management of data on multiple distributed servers and enables Windows Powered NAS software to automatically redirect users to data replicas in case data becomes unavailable. DFS provides replication and load balancing capabilities.
File and Print Serving Deploy a dedicated network attached file server appliance to address growing storage requirements. Data protection features and support for multiple file protocols is an ideal solution for heterogeneous file serving. Integration with Active Directory services enables data security and ease of management.
