The FlashDisk RX-1300 Series features high performance, low power and compact 2.5” disks and SSDs that are perfect for the tight space requirements of many COTS storage applications. Fitting in only 1U of rack space the 2.5” disks deliver 30% higher speed, 30% lower power and improved shock tolerance than 3.5” disks. With no moving parts, SSDs deliver high speed and the the best shock and vibration protection. Multiple base units may be used in a rack to expand performance as capacity is added - or just add expansion shelves. For larger storage requirements, the base unit uniquely supports 2U or 3U expansion shelves using 3.5” SAS and SATA disk drives with a total capacity of 65.7 TB. Thus, five tiers of performance and capacity are flexibly configured to meet specific requirements. The LCD front panel controls all functionality and is easily viewed by field personnel.

The FlashDisk RX-1300 Series offers single and redundant controllers and supports SAS 4x wide, 1 Gb Ethernet and 4 Gb Fibre Channel hosts. RAID 6 provides dual parity to protect against two drive failures and to help ensure that critical disk rebuilds after a drive failure are successful - especially important with today’s large arrays. RAID 6 dual parity offers 500 to 30,000 times longer MTDL (Mean Time To Data Loss) than RAID 5 - key in deployment of mobile field units.
