Chess/Glovia MRP II Runs 2 to 5 10 Times Faster with FlashDisk

Overview
An Illinois manufacturing company ran Chess/Glovia MRP II software to run their manufacturing operation. They already had a Micropolis RAID disk array and everything was running slow.

FlashDisk Speed
The company replaced the Micropolis array with FlashDisk running in RAID 5 mode with 4 disks connected to the Intel Pentium with an Adaptec 2740UW ultra-wide SCSI adapter and installation was “a breeze.” Performance improvement was immediately noticeable as boot time for 5 volumes was 5 minutes versus 22 minutes for just a single volume.
